UGU WELCOMES NEW EMPLOYEES THROUGH INDUCTION WORKSHOP
Ugu District Municipality hosted an induction workshop for newly appointed employees, aimed at welcoming them into the organisation and equipping them with essential knowledge to effectively carry out their responsibilities.
The induction provided new employees with an overview of the Municipality’s operations, workplace policies, organisational culture and the standards of professionalism expected from every employee.
A strong emphasis was placed on service delivery and customer care, reminding employees that regardless of their position or department, they are all representatives of Ugu District Municipality and have a responsibility to serve communities with professionalism, respect and integrity.
The workshop also covered important organisational matters including Human Resources practices, workplace conduct, communications and social media, customer relations, occupational health and safety, ICT and cybersecurity, as well as other key municipal policies and procedures.
Employees were encouraged to understand their individual roles within the broader municipal mandate and recognise that every function contributes towards achieving efficient and responsive service delivery.
The induction further created an interactive platform for new employees to engage with management, ask questions and gain a better understanding of the Municipality and its commitment to building a capable, accountable and service-driven workforce.
Through initiatives such as the induction programme, Ugu District Municipality continues to invest in its employees while strengthening a culture of professionalism, teamwork and putting communities first.
