PUTTING INNOVATION FIRST: UGU STAFF MEMBER RECOGNISED FOR FRESH THINKING
Innovation is shaping the future at Ugu District Municipality. One of the Municipality’s own employees, Call Centre Agent Ntandoyenkosi Mbhele, has been recognised after developing and submitting an innovative proposal aimed at strengthening municipal revenue collection while improving access to water services in rural communities.
The proposal showcases the value of employee-driven ideas and highlights how creative thinking can contribute to better service delivery and organisational growth. Municipal Manager Mr V.O. Mazibuko applauded the spirit of innovation displayed by Miss Mbhele, emphasising that the value lies in encouraging employees to think creatively.
“It’s not about the accuracy or immediate implementability of every idea. It’s about recognising staff innovation, invigorating the spirit of productivity, and boosting staff morale. We encourage all employees to think outside the box as we continue Putting People First.”
Ugu District Municipality remains committed to fostering a workplace where innovation is celebrated, ideas are welcomed, and every employee is empowered to contribute towards building a stronger, more responsive municipality.
Thank You
