Have your say on the Budget for 2019/2020

The municipality has embarked on an extensive district wide process of public outreach and community consultations. The objective of the planned outreach sessions is to give feedback on issues raised by communities during the last held mayoral izimbizo and to present the draft 2019/20 IDP/budget and tariffs proposals to solicit inputs from residents. The proposed new tariffs, indigent policies and budget proposals on capital projects are expected to dominate discussions at the IDP/Budget public consultative meetings. The municipality will hold these public IDP and budget consultative meetings from 29 March to 26 April 2019 with residents and various other stakeholders.Residents will have an opportunity to comment on the developmental programme of the District as contained in the IDP for the next five years and the budget. The municipality will also during the consultations, brief residents on the proposed developmental programme and allow communities to comment on other proposals.Integrated development planning is a process through which municipalities prepare a strategic development plan which extends over a five-year period. This then guides and informs all planning, budgeting, management, and decision-making processes in the municipality and therefore residents are encouraged to fully participate in these meetings.ENDSISSUED BY:UGU DISTRICT MUNICIPALITYFor more information and media queries contact:Senior Manager: Mayoralty and CommunicationsMr France ZamaFrance.Zama@ugu.websitesupport.co.za
