​As the country celebrates women during the month of August, yesterday the District woke up to news of a decomposed body of a woman found in a sugarcane field at Umthwalume area under Umzumbe local municipality.The mayor of Ugu District Municipality Cllr Sizwe Ngcobo has expressed a grave concern at these continuing brutal murder of women in this area. These acts of violence against women in our District seeks to defeats the very foundations of our democratic society and our commitment to human rights and the fight against gender based violence in our society.The District is mourning the deaths of several women who were murdered by men in our District.
