Municipality ready for the upcoming peak season
Municipality wishes to provide assurance to residents and tourists that measures are in place to ensure that water and sanitation services are available during the upcoming school holidays.Water supply systems are currently stable in most areas across the district while we continue working on routine maintenance issues affecting certain sections of our communities. The rehabilitation of the Margate 3A pumpstation is currently underway following the torrential rains which destroyed most of the infrastructure in the area. An immediate plan of dewatering of the pumpstation to access mechanical and electrical components has been implemented. And vacuum tanker services are being utilised as a temporary measure to minimise and contain possible sewer spillages in the area.Despite the closure of Margate beach due to the ongoing rehabilitation, all other blue flag beaches across the district are fully available to our residents and tourists to explore during the upcoming holidays. For continous updates on water and sanition related matters, visit and like our facebook page:’Ugu District Municipality’.ENDSISSUED BY:UGU DISTRICT MUNICIPALITYFor more information and media queries contact:Municipal SpokespersonMr France ZamaTel: 039 688 5713Email:France.Zama@ugu.websitesupport.co.za
